My other question is, how many times can one man get run over??
The answer is, If you're John Wick, as many fucking times as anyone dares to try!!
John Wick: Chapter 2, is a 2017 american action movie, starring Keanu Reeves as the titular character.
It was so much fun to watch and got me all riled up, like I wanted to get someone in a headlock - Jahannah is lucky she fell asleep ha ha
Keanu Reeves is a machine! The man is 52 and still looks and moves like a 20 year old ninja. Bravo to him.
He also made an appearance at the screening - I nearly died.
As the title suggests, this is the second installment of what is rumoured to be a trilogy (fingers crossed) centred around a hitman, who is desperately just trying to retire and get over his wife's tragic and untimely death.
I must admit that when it first came out, I dismissed the first film and didn't watch it, until I got so sick and tired of Baz practically forcing it down my throat, I gave in and watched it.
It is SO GOOD, I am annoyed that I didn't listen to him sooner - its been 10 years, when will I learn??
Anyway, this film is not some grand sweeping epic that will be critically lauded forever more, but it is a masterfully made, fun film to watch, that is like a hundred mile an hour smack in the face from start to finish. It's gloriously violent and genuinely funny, at times.
Most of the original cast returned - apart from the dead ones of course and they all seemed to be truly loving what they were doing. I don't know about you, but I can tell when someone is simply under contract, rather than genuinely loving life - please see Jennifer Lawrence in X Men Apocalypse and you will know exactly what I mean.
I don't have one single complaint to make and the only word that keeps springing to mind is, FUN.
Its violent and bloody and the plot is piss easy to follow - its pure entertainment and you don't even have to have seen the first one to appreciate this one. Bonus.
It hasn't lost the Korean gangster movie look of the first one either, which was a massive part of its charm for me - its just slightly more polished this time around. In fact, its so polished its positively sparkling.
Go and see it in the cinema, if only to appreciate how aesthetically pleasing an action movie can be, without relying on a million and one unnecessary explosions.
